I started my career working as a digital designer at some of New York's most notable digital agencies (R/GA, Code &Theory, LBi.) Early in my career, I found myself leaning towards work that involved more complexity. I liked the idea of tinkering with a machine to make it work in harmony with a user's intentions. As I honed my skills, I began to think about how these digital products could become essential utilities in peoples lives. I joined Oscar Health
, at the time a small startup, in February 2014 and helped build a brand, product, and design team to attempt to change the fragile and complicated health insurance industry in America. After almost four years of leading the team, I decided to venture out on my own. I ended up teaming with a company in Berlin where I had the opportunity to lead a design team as an interim head of design. The role showed me the global reach of digital products and the people, processes, and ideas that create them. While in Berlin, I founded The Combination Rule—a digital studio, in late 2017. The intention is to partner with ambitious founders and teams to create digital products that reduce anxiety, creating utilities that remove repetitive tasks and open peoples time up to more meaningful things. Less noise + Less tension = More 😀.
I'm currently in Brooklyn looking for new people to partner with. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to talk more
