I’m Josh, a digital product designer and creative director in Brooklyn.

I started my career working as a digital designer at some of New York's most notable digital agencies (R/GA, Code &Theory, LBi.)  Early in my career, I found myself leaning towards work that involved more complexity. I liked the idea of tinkering with a machine to make it work in harmony with a user's intentions. As I honed my skills, I began to think about how these digital products could become essential utilities in peoples lives. I joined Oscar Health, at the time a small startup, in February 2014 and helped build a brand, product, and design team to attempt to change the fragile and complicated health insurance industry in America. After almost four years of leading the team, I decided to venture out on my own. I ended up teaming with GoEuro, a Berlin based travel company, where I had the opportunity to lead a design team as an interim head of design. The role showed me the global reach of digital products and the people, processes, and ideas that create them. While in Berlin, I founded The Combination Rule—a digital studio, in late 2017. The studio works as a design partner with ambitious founders and teams to create digital products.
